About Brian Gurry___________________________________
There are TV professionals that host home improvement and building
shows. Then there's Brian Gurry, a professional builder who just
happens to host a television program. While the other guys are
worried about drywall dust in their hair, Brian is focused on getting
the job done, on time and on budget.
Brian grew up in the construction industry, literally spending time on job
sites with his father's work crews as they assisted in the construction of
many Boston landmarks like the State Street Bank, One Beacon Street, and the
former Eastern Air Lines Terminal at Logan. Brian remembers riding to the unfinished,
open upper floors of the 52-story Prudential Center with his father and knowing
then that construction would play a big role in his future.
Over the years, Brian worked for several construction companies until founding
his own, Gurry Construction and Property Management Corp. Brian's career has
taken him to job sites for many demanding, high profile customers providing
construction services to the likes of Tiffany's, Harvard University and the
Ritz Carlton.
As host and Master Contractor of American Builder, Brian guides viewers through
the challenges he encounters on real-world construction jobs not made-for-TV
projects. As for making a TV show on the job site, Brian finds the glare of
the television camera is nothing compared to the expectations of his clients.
